I researched these for hours and hours, as well as their competitors. I'm very happy I went with ergotron. Quality, ease and style. Very versatile.

I absolutely love these things. I've purchased two to mount my 22" HP 2207h LCD monitors.
- The tension on the arms can be severely fine-tuned to be just the right balance of resistance and free-movement.
- The construction is durable with a refined quality, and the finish is completely suitable for use in a professional environment. The plastic wire guides, while functional, are a bit flimsy, but overall, they serve their function well.
-It allows greater forward-tilting of the monitors vs. their default stands, and in fact, you can swivel these in just about any direction / position you can imagine
There are so many options out there for this type of mounting, it's difficult to know where to begin. I can tell you that of all the options I've looked at over the past, when comparing price, ease of use, appearance, and function, I sincerely believe you will not find a better product anywhere.

This is a superb quality arm. I use it with a laptop tray that can be ordered separately. I have it installed in my kitchen. The reach and flexibility in all directions is great. The arm never wobbles. Most importantly, the springs are awesome. It works great with smaller/lightweight (Sony VAIO) and bigger/heavier weight (DELL latitude) laptop computers. You do not even have to adjust the springs when you change between these computers. Installation takes at least an hour if you want to do it well. However, ones installed this is a great way to keep your laptop easily accesible.

I'd been looking for a wall-mount solution for my 20" Cintiq monitor for some time: one that would allow for using the Cintiq as a regular monitor in my two-monitor setup as well as being able to pull it towards me and rotate it for drawing on. The product description is mostly correct; it does rotate 90º, but in ONLY ONE DIRECTION. That was almost a reason to return the arm, but the design allowed for a little modification and with some gentle persuasion with a nail set and a three pound hammer I was able to knock out the little stopper-tab and now I can rotate the Cintiq 360º. Adjusting the tension of the arms is easy and it holds the Cintiq firmly even under fairly heavy pressure. I do have to hold the display when I'm really doing some broad gestures, but It's nothing unreasonable. I'm so happy with the Ergotron LX Wall Mount that I bought a second one for my 23" Apple Cinema Display, so no matter where I am in my studio, I can position one of the monitors so I can see it. Something to be aware of: the hardware that comes with the arm (mounting screws, allen wrenches & the like) DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY SCREWS OR ANCHORS TO ATTACH THE ARM TO THE WALL. I don't think Ergotron really states this clearly enough, as I was slightly surprised when I discovered this. I'm a handy guy, however, and I probably would've used my own hardware anyway. Also, I can't imagine not attaching this arm to a stud or a solid wall. I wouldn't feel the slightest bit comfortable using drywall anchors with this mount. At any rate, I'm quite satisfied.

I have checked out many wall mounts in several stores and web sites but none was as flexible and pleasant to see. It can hold a 20" LCD terminal easily and in many positions. Reviews were very helpful. After getting the first one and using it for a couple of weeks, I got a second one. Range of movement and tilting is incredible. Check out the other products from Ergotron in their web site also.
One of the options that Amazon offers is an extender which is not needed because it comes with one already. It can extend it about 2 feet from the wall. (Unless you want to extend it farther than 2 feet).
